Özet:

This study aims to present not only the life and scholarly personality of Yusuf Ziyāeddin Ezherī but also his understanding of prophethood. This work, consisting of two main sections, first covers his birth, education, works, and the places where he passed away and was buried. Following that, it addresses Ezherīs views on the main topics of prophethood, such as the possibility of revelation and the institution of prophethood, the proofs for the existence of revelation, the emergence of revelation and prophecy, the proof of prophethood, the qualities and duties of the prophets, and the proof of the prophethood of Prophet Muhammad PBUH. Thus, the aim is to contribute to the resolution of contemporary problems related to prophethood, which is considered the lifeblood of religion. As a contemporary scholar, Ezherī sought to address the theological issues of his time. This aspect played a significant role in dedicating this work to him. His work, Revelation and Prophethood, written particularly in this field, has been the primary reference source for this study. In addition, works that contribute to the explanation of the issue have also been consulted. This research employs literature review, systematic analysis, and evaluation methods It has been determined that Ezherī considers the denial of the possibility of prophethood and revelation as a spiritual illness, recognizes that Gods act of revealing is not only befitting His divine lordship but also necessitated by His infinite wisdom, acknowledges that revelation comes in various forms, and asserts that the rejection of miracles as evidence for prophethood stems solely from arrogance and obstinate denial. He asserts that miracles serve as evidence for prophethood, classifying them into two categories: sensory and intellectual. He maintains that prophets were appointed to guide humanity towards happiness in both the afterlife and worldly life, and while they might have dealt with issues like worldly sustenance, these were never their ultimate objectives. He argues that prophets are free from reprehensible qualities and that it is obligatory for them to be so. He also claims that there are both sensory and intellectual proofs to support the prophethood of Prophet Muhammad PBUH. In this context, it has been established that despite the difficulties and death threats faced by Prophet Muhammad PBUH, he never hesitated in his mission and patiently continued to fight for it. He was never seen committing even minor slips or lapses, whether before or after the revelation. In many instances, he prayed to his Lord and sought refuge in Him. His efforts for the rapid spread of Islam, his provision of information about the unseen, his deep concern for the salvation of people, and his significant effort in this regard have been noted. He distanced himself from worldly pleasures and focused on jihad, with no desire for worldly status or fame, among other aspects, which Ezherî considers as intellectual proof. It has been observed that he cited various extraordinary events -such as the splitting of the moon and the destruction of the idols in the Kaaba- as sensory empirical proofs of prophethood.

Muhammedin s.a.v. risâletinin ispatı şeklinde nübüvvetin ana konularına dair Ezherînin görüşleri işlenmiştir. Böylece dinin can damarı hükmünde olan nübüvvete dair güncel problemlerin çözümüne katkı sunulması hedeflenmiştir. Muhammedin s.a.v. peygamberliğini ispat eden hissî ve aklî delillerin olduğunu savunduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu bağlamda Hz. Peygamberin s.a.v.
