Özet:

Natural disasters and especially earthquakes have existed as a destructive part of our lives from the past to the present. Earthquakes occur almost everywhere in the world and have a negative impact at a level that will cause loss of life with its devastating effect. February 6, 2023, Kahramanmaraş-based earthquakes, which took place on Dec. 2023, took its place among the major earthquakes that were devastating and caused loss of life if the disasters experienced in Turkey are taken into account. Malatya is one of our cities where the earthquake and its effects are deeply felt in the process. Although Malatya province seems to have been less affected than other provinces when the number of people who lost their lives is taken into account, the society has experienced destruction that cannot be fully realized due to the rate and number of medium and severely damaged buildings. This research was conducted in order to determine the negative effects that undergraduate music department students experienced during the earthquake, which is a natural disaster, on the sample of the February 6 earthquakes. A mixed pattern was used in the research. While a descriptive approach was taken at the source screening and situation determination stage, semi-structured personal interview technique was preferred in determining the thoughts of the students of the conservatory music department affected by the earthquake process. The research was limited to 30 samples studying at the undergraduate level at Inönü University State Conservatory and GSTF Music Departments. The samples were determined by random method. The research data were converted into various frequency values and graphed and interpreted in accordance with the expert opinions. In addition to these, personal opinions made with samples were taken into account in this process. As a result of the research, the first things that come to mind are the results obtained that music department students are extremely negatively affected by the process, some of them lost their close family members and loved ones, moved away from the educational environment during the process, experienced various housing problems, encountered economic problems, faced with earthquake fear, anxiety and feelings of anxiety.
