Özet:

Digitization, which gained momentum as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, has also affected the banking sector, and many banks have changed their workplaces. In this study, it was investigated how the rapidly developing digitalization after the pandemic process reflected on the bank headquarters and employees in 2022. In order to determine the point of view of the bank employees on the changing spaces, an online interview was conducted with the bank head office employees. As a result of digitization; The main hypothesis of the study is that bank spaces will change over time and turn into public spaces. It is assumed that the use of digital money systems such as Blockchain, Bitcoin decentralized crypto currency will increase and the groups formed by these money systems will create their own spaces with a cooperative approach. Due to the development of mobile banking, customers can perform banking transactions themselves instead of employees, and as a result, the variability in the workforce of bank employees will be reflected in the spaces. The study covered the bank headquarters offices selected in Istanbul, and the bank branches were excluded from the study. As a result of the online interviews, it was determined that the employees of the central bank preferred their working areas in favor of public spaces such as cafes and libraries outside the office and home. Banking companies mostly use the hybrid system today, but employees stated that they provide more work efficiency in out-of-office spaces. As a result of the interviews, it was determined that the use of shared office spaces co-working in banks is not common. In this direction, it is thought that it would be correct for bank companies to rearrange the interior design of their offices and to position shared office spaces in their headquarters or in certain locations of cities in terms of providing business efficiency. As a result of online interviews, it has been shown that working from a different location other than the bank offices did not change the loyalty of the employees to the institution. This study is important in terms of questioning the space requirement of the banks, where money exchanges based on trust, are provided in the coming years.
