Özet:

Amisos is one of the most important ancient cities of Anatolia, located in the Pontus Region in the Ancient Period. There has been a dense settlement in Samsun since prehistoric times. Since it is adjacent to the Black Sea, it has been an important port and trade center in every period. Amisos, whose history dates back to prehistory, is known to have been the center of the Pontus Region from the Archaic Period to the end of the Hellenistic Period, when Greek influence was dominant, and the existence of small cities connected to this center. The climatic conditions and topographic structure of both the Black Sea Region and the city of Amisos make archaeological studies in the region difficult. Although the lack of large-scale scientific studies on terracotta figurines throughout the region and the fact that there is a general workshop problem create problems in terms of literature, it generally allows us to have information about the belief system, social life and cultural structure of the Pontus Region and the ancient city of Amisos. In this study, four Aphrodite Anadyomene type figurines in the Samsun Archeology and Ethnography Museum were examined. Terracotta figurines are among the materials that have a wide range of usage areas. This group of materials is also very important for the Ancient City of Amisos. The Aphrodite Anadyomene figurines, thought to belong to Amisos, were compared with previously dated examples and evaluated stylistically, typologically and iconographically, and it was determined that they belonged to the end of the 1st century BC and the beginning of the 1st century AD. Since the figurines were brought to the museum by purchasing, it is difficult to obtain precise information about the building or structures where the works are located. The finds unearthed, even if they are few in number, are sufficient to show the historical richness of the city and the region.
