Özet:

Series are one of the entertainment tools that allow people to spend time and distract them from their daily routine. The experiences and characters that are reflected in the series build up certain structures in the minds of the audience, sometimes directly and sometimes indirectly. The effectiveness of the series is ensured by the messages that are given through the series. The aim of the research is to reveal how Islamic identity is presented in TV series with religious content, and what kind of distance exists between the projected and the existing. In the study, qualitative research method and discourse analysis were used. The Kızılcık Şerbeti series was chosen as the research sample. The analyses were conducted between 8 and 15 May. The data obtained was analysed and as a result of the research, the Islamic identity and the religion of Islam were revealed as a belief of uneducated individuals who are behind civilisation. It has been seen that this argument has been confirmed and internalised by the conservative segment of the population. Another conclusion is that the cultural behaviour reflected by the conservative segment is presented as an Islamic identity value and provides disinformation for the religion of Islam.
