Özet:

Human beings come into the world as a needy being since their existence. From the moment he steps into the world life, he enters into a struggle to fulfil his various needs. In this struggle of the human being, whose characteristics are limited, the determination of the Almighty Creator plays a great role as well as the endeavour to survive in a world with limited characteristics like him. By living in family and society, human beings become aware of their duties and responsibilities; however, they may not be able to fully meet their needs with the means and abilities they have. While the needs that change according to the time may sometimes be at a level that people can meet with their own means, sometimes they may result in inadequacy. At this point, people need to help each other. In the historical process, there are many examples of people seeking different methods and solutions to meet their needs. This situation emphasises the necessity for humanity to live together and support each other. This study analyses the human need for cooperation and how this need is applied in different religions and communities. It also focuses on the sustainability of charity and the importance of financial resources. The concept of foundation is considered as a method that ensures the financial sustainability of charity practices. The main questions of this study are: What kind of a being is a human being and why does heshe need to help?, How has charity been practised in different religions and communities?, Is there a need for financial resources in the sustainability of charity?, Can foundation practices contribute to achieving sustainability goals?. The answers to these questions will clarify the natural human tendency towards solidarity, the practices of solidarity in different cultures and religions, the role of financial resources in the continuity of solidarity and the contribution of foundation practices to sustainability goals. In this framework, it is aimed to shed light on the future of charity by taking into account the historical perspective of the concept of foundation. Despite the existence of compulsory or voluntary aid in religious belief systems, giving or not giving aid depends on the individuals belief relationship with the Supreme Creator and has no sanction in this world. However, this situation may be insufficient to meet the needs of those in need. The results of the study suggest that the financial sustainability problems encountered in charity can be solved by political, economic and legal regulations of foundation practices.
