Özet:

Siberia has attracted much attention over hundreds of centuries due to its expansive territories, lush woodlands, abundant biodiversity, and enduring frigid climatic conditions. Simultaneously, these territories have accommodated numerous Turkish communities across an extensive historical period. Numerous cultural legacies have been left by the states that were founded in the region and the groups that are connected to them. A part of this legacy is the epic of Ildan and Güldan, a work of Siberian Tatar culture. The purpose of this research is to thoroughly analyse the epic in question in terms of its historical significance. Through conducting a comparative analysis with other extant sources, an attempt has been made to elucidate the inherent historical connection between the Ildan and Güldan epic. Furthermore, it is worth noting that the epic has also undergone translation into contemporary Turkish. The objective of this dual methodology is to acquire significant data that validates and enhances the historical significance of the Ildan and Güldan epic, as well as the materials pertaining to the history of Siberia. The epic of Ildan and Guldan has the potential to foster diverse interpretations regarding the significance of Siberia in Turkish culture and history.
