Özet:

On June 25, 1950, the North Korean Forces supported by the Soviet Russia crossed the 38th Parallel line and invaded South Korea. The UN, which took immediate action against the invasion, called on its member states, including Turkey, to provide military assistance to establish world peace and to establish a UN Army for this purpose. In the context of the call, Turkey sent a brigade of 5,090 soldiers to Korea. After establishing its headquarters in Korea, the brigades personnel had first participated in combat in the Korean War on November 26, 1950. Since then, they were in battle until the armistice agreement was signed in 1953. During this process, the Korean Turkish Brigade carried out various social activities for the morale and motivation of the personnel. In this context, the North Stars Kutup Yıldızı newspaper, the first army newspaper of the Republican era, was published, then sports competitions were held, cinema halls were established and films were shown, concerts were given, also representations and performances were organized. The main source of the study is the North Stars Kutup Yıldızı Newspaper, which was published by the Korean Turkish Brigade during the Korean War.
