Özet:

In the context of contemporary developments related to the Palestinian issue, the identification of the glad tidings given by the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him concerning the region of Greater Syria Bilād al-Shām has become increasingly essential. During the Prophets era, this region, which also encompassed present-day Palestine, included significant cities mentioned in various narrations, most notably Jerusalem, Ascalon, and Gaza. According to reports, the Prophet pbuh referred to Ascalon and Gaza as the two brides and conveyed glad tidings for their inhabitants. Additionally, he is reported to have stated that the most virtuous form of ribāt frontier defense would take place in Ascalon. However, the presence of numerous fabricated reports concerning Ascalon has led some scholars to generalize these narrations. Nevertheless, among the reports on the virtues of Ascalon, there exist both authentic ṣaḥīḥ chains of transmission as well as weak narrations that are corroborated by stronger ones. This suggests that the issue has a historical basis. Indeed, notable scholars such as Ibn Ḥajar and Imām al-Suyūṭī have expressed similar views. Despite this, the reports regarding Ascalons virtues have not gained as much recognition in the Islamic world as the narrations foretelling the conquest of Constantinople. The primary reason for this discrepancy is that the Ascalon region was incorporated into Muslim territories at an early stage, preventing the emergence of a long-term anticipation of conquest.

Günümüzde Filistin meselesi çerçevesinde yaşanan gelişmeler, Hz. Peygamberin s.a.v. Şam bölgesine dair müjdelerinin tespit edilmesini ve bu alanda yapılan akademik çalışmaların artırılmasını zorunlu kılmaktadır. Hz.
