Özet:

The issue of ruyetullah constitutes one of the main subjects of aqāid-kalām texts from the first period. This matter, which was discussed between the Asharis and the Mutazila later on and determining the sectarian identity, was mostly handled around the narrated evidences in the first times. However, in parallel with the expansion of kalām to include philosophical claims, it is seen that rational-logical and linguistic vadî evidences intensify in ruyetullah. As a part of the scientific identity of kalām, it is also interesting to follow the theories on optics through out these texts. In this article, first of all, 18th century, the issue of ruyatallah in Ottoman Thought will be followed through the commentary-glossary literature and the independent works written on this area. Afterwards, based on the content of the work, it will be focused on the treatise of ruyatallah belonging to Hâfiz Sālih b. Sulaimān. This treatise differs from the relevant literature in terms of its composition, content and the scheme of evidence it uses.
