Özet:

Language and literature can provide a strong intellectual dimension to its interlocutor through a systematic and qualified education. A person who is familiar with the language and the world of words formed by it looks at the world from a broad perspective. When this quality is combined with the richness of literature, the world of emotion and thought becomes deeper. Individuals who receive a good education in Turkology departments and integrate this richness with many disciplines such as history, aesthetics, art, culture, mathematics, psychology play a pioneering role in society. When we take a look at history, it will be seen that this competence opens up a great space for individuals in their bureaucratic journey. Even the Divan poets alone provide us with important data in this regard. Most of the Tanzimat literary figures such as Namik Kemal, Ziya Pasha, Ahmet Midhat Efendi, Şinasi and Ali Suavi also held senior positions and had a significant impact on society. In this article, we would like to make a general evaluation on the place of Turcology and literature education in the bureaucracy journey by limiting this issue, which requires a very wide research, to Tanzimat period literary figures.
