Özet:

This study analyses the slander campaigns against Islam and the propaganda activities against Islam throughout history according to Abdurrahim Zapsus opinions and examines Zapsus Great History of Islam as the main source. According to Zapsu, it is seen that after the first revelation, Jewish and Christian groups, especially the Quraysh, made an effort to defame Islam, and it is seen that they tried to stop Islam from spreading by excluding Muslims in society and attacking the personality of the Prophet. According to Zapsus claims, after the death of the Prophet, the first factional movements began to be seen in the society. Under the leadership of Abdullah b. Saba, events such as the assassination of Hazrat Uthman and the martyrdom of Hazrat Ali, which would lead to the sectarianisation of the ummah, took place. In the Iranian region, the Bâtınis, who slandered Islam and the Prophet Muhammad by claiming that the Holy Quran has a superstitious meaning and endeavouring to revive the Meccan beliefs in the society, emerged. Zapsus work aims to refute the slanderous and misleading works of orientalists on Muslim societies with documents. Zapsu details the deliberate publications of orientalists such as Dr. Dozy and Leone Caetani aimed at influencing the Muslim society and the propaganda network aiming to harm Islam, and emphasises that Muslims should maintain their confidence in their own beliefs. In this study, Zapsu analyses the slander and propaganda against Islam and the Prophet Muhammad by Westerners.
