Özet:

Studies on cooperation between Turkish states have been continuing for more than thirty years. The Council of Turkic Speaking Countries was established with the Nakhchivan Agreement signed in 2009, which is known as an important turning point in this process. In the process, this structure, which was named the Organization of Turkish States OTS in 2021 and aims at social, political, economic and social cooperation among the Turkish states on the axis of common history, language and religion, has become one of the effective institutions of the region. OTS has a population of approximately 175 million, a surface area of 4.82 million km2, a total GDP of 1.53 trillion dollars and a foreign trade volume of 1.2 trillion dollars, an average growth rate of 4.5 and its oil, natural gas and other. The new power of Eurasia, with its underground resources and geo-political location, appears as a new center that will affect global balances. It is understood that OTS, which aims to contribute to the peace and prosperity of its members and the region, will play an important function in the ongoing power struggle in Eurasia and the global arena. In this context, OTS has an extremely important place in global trade with its economic structure, in the global energy market with its energy resources, and in Eurasia with its geographical location as trade and logistics corridors. On the other hand, the possible contribution of this organization in minimizing the negative effects of migration and terrorist incidents that are likely to spread from the region to the world and threaten global stability, is shaped as a functional organization in terms of global security. In this context, OTS member countries are at the center of attention of global and regional powers in terms of their geographical location and economic potential. In the current environment where threats to global stability are increasing, if OTS realizes its geo-political importance, develops cooperation opportunities, solves the existing problems among its members and reaches a suitable basis for common foreign policy and economic union, it will contribute to reducing economic and political risks in Eurasia, and on the other hand, it will take its place in the reshaped global balance of power.
