Özet:

A significant part of the carbon dioxide accumulated in the atmosphere is released from the soil respiration. Soil respiration may be affected by vegetation type, soil moisture and soil temperature. In this study, the possible effects of different vegetation types oak, oak youth, oak heather, heather on soil respiration in the Düzce region oak stands were investigated. Soil respiration in all vegetation types varies between 0.40 and 4.90 g C m-2 day-1. Oak heather vegetation performed higher soil respiration than other vegetations. Soil respiration was negatively correlated with soil temperature and positively correlated with soil moisture. As a result, vegetation type formed by different species such as oak and heather performed higher soil respiration.
