Özet:

Halimat Bayramukova, who is considered one of the most important representatives of modern Karachay-Balkar literature, is also a poet and writer well-known throughout the former Soviet Union. Halimat Bayramukova played a crucial role in reviving, guiding, and shaping the nearly extinct literature of the Karachay-Balkars, who lived in exile between 1943 and 1957, upon their return. For many years, the poet served as the director of the Karachay-Cherkess State Book Publishing House and as the president of the Karachay-Cherkess Writers and Poets Union. Halimat Bayramukova is the author of a total of 35 books in Karachay-Balkar and Russian, in various genres such as poetry, novels, stories, essays and plays. In addition, the poets works have been translated and published in many parts of the world and in more than fifty languages. Following her passing, the National Library of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic was named in her honor to preserve her legacy. In this study, a thematic and text-centered examination has been made on the poems of Halimat Bayramukova, who is generally known for her prose works. The subjects that the poet deals with in her works are quite wide and diverse, covering all areas of life. As it is not feasible to examine all the dominant themes in the poets works within this study, we will focus on evaluating poems centered on the theme of women. Halimat Bayramukova addresses women in various aspects in her poems where the theme of women is dominant. In some of her works, the poet shows women as powerless, weak, oppressed, soft, naive and fragile, in others, she shows them as gentle, elegant and beautiful, and in others, she shows them as a strong woman with a tough, unyielding and unwavering will. Nevertheless, a sense of elegance and warmth prevails in all of them.
