Özet:

Göksel Baktagir is an artist who stands out with his contributions to contemporary Turkish music. He has been influential in various fields of music with his works and the techniques used. He has created a valuable resource not only for the kanun instrument, but also for all other instruments, instrument instructors and composers. The various techniques, ornaments and makam diversity used in Baktagirs works have contributed greatly to Turkish music. Göksel Baktagir resurrected the longa and sirto, two forgotten forms, by enriching them with maqam, usul forms and ornaments. This approach respects the history of Turkish music while at the same time reinterpreting old forms in a modern and dynamic way. This study aims to use Göksel Baktagirs works to guide performers in interpreting and expressing works more effectively, and to help new composers develop their creativity by offering different musical perspectives. In this study, 10 sirtos and 7 longas by Göksel Baktagir, together with the reference recordings of these sirtos and longas, were analyzed in terms of performance makam and form, and necessary etudes were suggested in terms of ornamentation and techniques. The results were reached by analyzing the data collected through document analysis.
