Özet:

The mental process basically consists of three stages: input, processing, and output. The perception stage, which is accepted as the beginning of the mental process, is located in the input stage. Sensory verbs are considered in this stage. In the processing stage, the data received through the senses are processed in the input stage. Cognitive verbs are located in this stage. Explanation verbs form the last stage of the mental process. The verbs in the category of explanation verbs are a mental verb in which the behavioral reactions that occur due to the individuals mental or communication processes are expressed willingly and unwillingly. Explanatory verbs include linguistic and visual explanations. In this study, Süheyl ü Nev-bahâr, which was translated from Persian to Turkish by Hoca Mesûd in the Anatolian field in the second half of the 14th century and is accepted as the first translated work on human love in Turkish literature, was examined in terms of explanation verbs. A total of 257 explanation verbs were reviewed in the work. The identified explanations verbs were first discussed in two main categories: explanation verbs that are in a single mental category and explanation verbs that are in more than one mental category. With the examinations, the explanation verbs in more than one mental category were also evaluated in terms of multi- layerity at the same mental verb level and multi- layerity at different mental verb levels.
