Özet:

Proverbs, which play an important role in carrying the cultural heritage from the past to the present, reflect the ancestors' perspectives towards life, events and behaviors with their stereotypes and deep meanings. It is possible to come across proverbs, which are used in daily speaking, in literary works from pre-Islamic period to the present day, as well. In Ashik literature, it has been the subject of poems independently. These poems, which were created to give advice within the genre of epic, are called ‘The Epic of Atalar Sözü’. The tradition of narrating the epic of Atalar Sözü, the oldest and most successful example of which is available in Levnî in Ashik literature, continued increasingly in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is not a coincidence that these works increase in times of deterioration of the social structure. Because it should be taken natural for the lovers, who are the spokespersons of the society, to present ideal behavioral patterns to individuals through proverbs. In the study, twelve epics that were found to be written / said for the purpose of Atalar Sözü were examined and the proverbs and idioms contained in these epics were determined. It was concluded that poetry in which Sufi subjects stand out is weak in terms of proverbs and the Ashiks such as Levnî, Mir’âtî, Mevcî and Refikî were very successful and these poems were founded on the main redif of "demişler". The processing of proverbs in this type and form shows how successful Ashiks are in their art.
