Özet:

Urban lighting applications consist of functional illuminations that ensure the continuous safe and comfortable continuation of urban life, as well as architectural illuminations that accurately reflect the identity of the city and make it more appealing. Illumination of building facades is one of the significant subjects in urban lighting, aimed not only at making a building visible throughout the night but also at promoting and introducing the building. Especially for buildings with cultural, historical, and symbolic significance to the city, appropriately illuminated structures serve not only as effective promotional tools reflecting their value but also as security measures. In the initial phase of the study, within the scope of urban lighting, the focus was narrowed down to building facade, and the techniques of building facade illumination were examined and conveyed with examples. In the second part of the study, an examination was carried out for the Surayya Opera building, which is one of the important buildings for Kadikoy and alternative suggestions were created with the construction face lighting techniques.
