Özet:

Along with many factors, the power relationship is also effective in the shaping of cities. The desire of people in power to reflect their political and ideological approaches has led them to intervene directly in urban space arrangements and building structures. Konya city center has also been shaped by the ideological interventions of different powers throughout history. The fact that the city center of Konya, which has survived by hosting different civilizations, preserves its symbolic value created by the ruling ideology, has enabled it to be selected as a sample area within the scope of this study. In the study, it is aimed to determine how the city center of Konya has been shaped periodically from the past to the present by the ruling ideology. Looking at the data obtained, it has been concluded that the power of government has been effective in the regulation of urban areas throughout history. In the case of Konya, while it was observed that the dominant civilizations in the pre-Republican period shaped the city directly with the power of power in line with their religious, military and cultural lifestyles, the regime change after the Republic and the planning decisions that followed show that the effect of the power on the city has moved to legal dimensions.
