Özet:

Politics has a scope that seeks a common good and a more just administration within the framework of the social element of the state, even though it is viewed as a power struggle within the framework of acquiring power as the governing machinery of the state. In this framework, although politics is a controversial issue, it is a field of struggle that cannot be separated from ethical elements. Ethics in politics is based on the principle that politicians and statesmen should not pursue their personal interests by using their public powers. This discussion centres on what constitutes appropriate and moral action in the political sphere. Political figure Adnan Kahveci is regarded as a remarkable political personality both during and after his life. The qualities that set him apart are his politics, integrity, diligence, and emphasis on openness. It is seen that Kahvecis understanding of politics, defined as that of one of the architects of Turgut Özal-era politics, is a result of his political personality and that this understanding is essentially focused on the goal of the good of the people.. In this context, this study questions whether Adnan Kahveci can be seen as an example of an ethical politician in Turkish politics based on the assumption that his political understanding expresses a clean approach.
