Özet:

Fourteen stories of Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar, whose novels are usually the subject of literary research, were published between 1936 and 1955. The first of these stories is Geçmiş Zaman Elbiseleri Past Time Dresses 1936 and the second is Erzurumlu Tahsin Tahsin from Erzurum. Erzurumlu Tahsin first published in 1937 focuses on Tahsin Efendi, whose life and personality underwent a transformation after the Balkan Wars he participated in. Tanpınar has encountered this character in real life as well as in the fictional world. The author would be greatly influenced by Tahsin Efendi, whom he encountered during the 1924 Erzurum Earthquake, and he would tell us his tragic story. In this study, the inner journey of Tahsin, the protagonist of the story, and his transformation under the influence of war and earthquake will be interpreted on the basis of the common consciousness analysis put forward by Joseph Campbell, in The Heros Journey 1949. Tahsin, who was educated in law school and is the son of a well-to-do family, turned his back on the ordinary world life that the majority lived in, after the Balkan War, and began to live only his inner world and completely withdraws from materialworldly issues. Along with all this, Tahsins tragic journey and transformation need to be read and examined with all the accompanying stages.
