Özet:

Today, the culture of narcissism is becoming an increasingly prevalent phenomenon. Within the capitalist system, the acceptance of authoritarianism, strength, and male superiority in the job market has led men to internalize this created superiority. As a result, the emergence of hegemonic masculinity has become an indispensable element of the patriarchal system. Cinema, which has an effective role among mass media, can reproduce existing dominant ideas with the narratives it creates. In this context, using the descriptive analysis method, which allows the researcher to make their own interpretations and draw conclusions based on descriptions, the hegemonic masculinity image and the narcissistic identity phenomenon nourished by that image in the Top Gun: Maverick 2022 movie will be examined and discussed within a conceptual framework.
