 Purpose: In order for physical education and sports lessons to achieve their goals, it is essential to train qualified teachers and for these people to have pedagogical knowledge and be field experts. The purpose of this contextual study is to examine the readiness status of preservice Physical Education and Sports Teacher for the teaching profession according to various variables. Method: The The research was conducted using the descriptive survey model, one of the quantitative research methods. The Readiness Scale for Teaching Profession developed by Yıldırım and Köklükaya 2017 and the Personal Information Form developed by the researchers were used as data collection tools in the study. The sample of the research consisted of preservice physical education and sports teachers studying at Karabük University Hasan Doğan Faculty of Sports Sciences in the 2023-2024 academic year. The data obtained in the research were analyzed with the SPSS 25 package program. Results: In the research findings, it was determined that the participants readiness levels were high. In addition, when examined in terms of demographic information, it was determined that the grade level created a significant difference on readiness, but gender and socio-economic status did not cause a significant difference. Conclusion: As a result of the research, it was determined that the professional readiness levels of preservice physical education and sports teachers were at a high level, and while the variables of gender and socio-economic status did not create a significant difference on readiness, the significant difference in grade level suggests that the level of professional readiness is based more on academic factors such as the curriculum and practical courses taken.

 Amaç: Beden eğitimi ve spor derslerinin amaçlarına ulaşması için nitelikli öğretmen yetiştirilmesi, bu kişilerin pedagojik bilgiye sahip ve alan uzmanı olmaları elzemdir. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın amacı Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Öğretmeni adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğine hazırbulunuşluk durumlarını çeşitli değişkenlere göre incelemektir. Yöntem: Araştırma nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden betimsel tarama modelinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmada veri toplama araçları olarak Öğretmenlik Mesleğine Yönelik Hazırbulunuşluk Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini 2023-2024 akademik yılında Karabük Üniversitesi Hasan Doğan Spor Bilimleri Fakültesinde öğrenim görmekte olan 358 beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmeni adayı oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler SPSS paket programıyla analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular: Araştırma bulgularında katılımcıların hazırbulunuşluk seviyelerinin yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca demografik bilgiler açısından incelendiğinde ise sınıf düzeyinin hazırbulunuşluk üzerinde anlamlı bir farklılık oluşturduğu, ancak cinsiyet ve sosyo-ekonomik durumun anlamlı bir farklılığa sebep olmadıkları belirlenmiştir. Sonuç: Araştırma sonucunda beden eğitimi ve spor öğretmeni adaylarının mesleğe hazırbulunuşluk seviyelerinin yüksek seviyede olduğu ayrıca cinsiyet ve sosyo-ekonomik durum değişkenlerinin hazırbulunuşluk üzerinde anlamlı bir fark oluşturmazken, sınıf düzeyinin anlamlı fark oluşturması mesleki hazırbulunuşluk düzeyinin daha çok öğretim programı, alınan uygulamalı dersler gibi akademik faktörlere dayandığını düşündürmektedir.
