Özet:

The Battle of Sakarya, which was extremely valuable in terms of Turkish-Greek relations during the National Struggle period, shows that Turkish foreign policy has entered an important phase in terms of its results. The political process that developed after this war, while pacifying the Greek Government in the international arena, made the Turkish Government active. As a matter of fact, Turkish foreign policy, which is moving towards a new and positive process with the atmosphere created by the treaties and treaty initiatives, has made a strong gain through the successes in the military field. In this study, the effects of the military situation that emerged after the Battle of Sakarya on Turkish foreign policy, the current relations with the states existing in Anatolia in a new framework and the advantages of the Turkish Government with bilateral agreements are emphasized.

Millî Mücadele dönemi Türk-Yunan ilişkileri bakımından son derece kıymet arz eden Sakarya Savaşı, sonuçları itibari ile de Türk dış politikasının önemli bir evreye geçtiğini göstermektedir. Bu savaş sonrasında gelişen siyasi süreç, uluslararası arenada Yunan Hükümetini pasifleştirirken Türk Hükümetini aktif bir duruma getirmiştir. Nitekim yapılan antlaşma ve antlaşma girişimlerinin ortaya çıkardığı atmosferle yeni ve olumlu bir sürece doğru ilerleyen Türk dış politikası, askerî alanda kazanılan başarılar üzerinden güçlü bir kazanım elde etmiştir. Bu çalışmada, Sakarya Savaşı sonrasında ortaya çıkan askerî vaziyetin Türk dış politikası üzerindeki etkileri, Anadoluda varlığını sürdüren devletler ile mevcut ilişkilerin yeni bir çerçeve de ele alınması ve Türk Hükümetinin ikili antlaşmalarla sağladığı avantajlar üzerinde durulmuştur.
