Özet:

Since the proclamation of the Republic, building cooperatives have become a common form of housing production. The Gülevler Building Cooperative, built in Isparta between 1968-70, is becoming increasingly important in terms of both its architectural features and its production method. Aiming to create an undisturbed environment in the green outskirts of the city, the cooperatives construction was completed in a short period of 1.5 years, and 110 single-storey detached houses with gardens were built. Located in a low-density, sparsely populated area, the houses have a modern appearance, far removed from the traditional housing typology with its massed forms and simple facades. Built between 1960 and 1980, as modernism took hold of the city of Isparta, the Gülevler Building Cooperative today forms a small part of the neighborhood after which it is named. The aim of this study is to reveal the origins, characteristics, and current situation of the Gülevler settlement, and to document that it is an example of modern urbanism that should be preserved and passed on to future generations. To evaluate the urban and architectural qualities of the cooperative, information and documents related to the history of the city were scanned and the drawings, plans, and visual materials obtained were studied. As a result of the study, the urban and architectural qualities of the Gülevler Building Cooperative were revealed, and at the same time, the current situation and the changes and transformations that the area has undergone were determined. As a result of the study, it was found that the cooperative settlement was effective in the development of modern architecture in the city.
