Özet:

In order to indicate the subject and object in example sentences in Arabic, certain personal names have been used. For this purpose, from the time of Sībawayhs al-Kitāb, imaginary persons such as Amr and Zayd have appeared in Arabic grammar books. These example names, which are seen in grammar texts, have become widespread and have also been used in various scholarly texts such as jurisprudence fiqh, logic, and theology kalām. In fiqh texts, especially in fatwas, new names have been added to these. Proper names such as Amr, Zayd, Bakr, Bashīr, Khālid, Hind, and Zaynab, after being transformed into representative characters in grammar and fiqh texts, have also found a place in literary works. The presence of these representative names in the literary field has been further reinforced by fiqh-related works such as manzūm fatwā poetic fatwa and manzūm farāʾiḍnāma poetic inheritance law books, as well as by poetic translations of scientific works in the field of grammar, such as ʿawāmil and ʿawāmil muʿrib. These names, which were used as example figures and gained new meanings as fixed expressions in Persian literature, were reflected in classical Turkish literature through foundational works that shaped Eastern literature and the commentaries written on these works. Representative names, which appeared in various contexts in prose texts such as tezkire biographical anthologies and sharh commentaries in classical Turkish literature, were widely used in divans and mathnawis. Divan poets employed these representative names both as the subjects and objects of the events described in their couplets and in ways that conveyed different meanings. Since these names were mostly used in the context of Arabic grammar nahw and Islamic jurisprudence fiqh, divan poets benefited from the expressive possibilities provided by numerous terms related to Islamic law and grammar. Poets incorporated these names into various forms of wit and imagination, using them in their poetry on almost every subject, especially in religious and mystical tasawwufī matters. There is no independent study on the use of representative names in Divan poetry. In this interdisciplinary study, after identifying the origins of these names and the scientific and literary texts in which they appear, their context and usage in Divan poetry have been examined. This article, which explores the journey of representative names from Arabic scholarly texts to Turkish literature, reveals the new meanings these names acquired through conventionalization in Divan poetry, supported by the testimony of tezkires biographical anthologies and sharhs commentaries. In this way, significant and effective examples of polysemy and intertextual relations in Eastern literature have been made available for researchers.
