Özet:

Germanys political history has had a significant impact on the countrys current political climate. This study analyzes the influence of Germanys historical context on the emergence and rise of the AfD Alternative für Deutschland. The 20th century events, including the two world wars, the Cold War period, and the reunification process, have caused various economic, social, and political ruptures within German society. The AfDs emergence is particularly linked to reactions against globalization, European Union integration, and refugee policies. The study explores how historical traumas, economic inequalities, and issues of cultural identity have played a role in the rise of the AfD. Furthermore, it examines the historical roots of the AfDs nationalist and populist rhetoric, especially in finding resonance among voters in East Germany. The study highlights how Germanys historical development has contributed to the strengthening of radical right-wing movements in contemporary politics, analyzing the intersection of history and politics. In this context, the AfDs success is emphasized as being tied not only to current economic and social conditions but also to Germanys structural problems stemming from its past.
