Özet:

Oral culture is the collective memory products of a nation from the past to the present. Narrative genres are an important carrier in the transfer of memory products from generation to generation. The framework of cultural heritage is determined by the oral and written memory products of the society. These products produced by the society can be transferred from generation to generation through literary texts. In the process of transmission of folklore products, context-centered research of the product reveals the need for a multi-faceted approach to folk narratives. The joke genre is among the elements of oral culture that reflect the cultural values of the society in a short and concise manner. İncili Çavuş is a joke hero whose life is not clearly known and who is thought to have lived around the palace during the Ottoman Empire. The perception of reality in his works is more intense than other joke heroes in terms of conveying the sociological situation of the period. Examining İncili Çavuş and his joke narratives in this context is very important in terms of revealing the context in which folklore elements are formed and their contribution to tradition. This study, which aims to contextualize the analysis of space in İncili Çavuşs works, aims to contribute to the continuation of the tradition by classifying the historical places and elements that serve to enrich the identity of the city during the Ottoman period depending on the performance theory. Thus, a total of 100 Bibles compiled from different sources.
