Özet:

The aim of this study is to reveal the importance of the defense industry for a country in general, and the importance of the domestic and national defense industry for Turkey in particular, with the example of the FNSS company. From past to present, the army and armed forces have been the most effective elements in the existence of states and nations and in protecting them against threats. However, as important as the existence of this element, its discipline, equipment, military technology, and dependenceindependence on these weapons have also been important. Based on this historical process, the importance given to the national and local defense industry and the importance that should be given to it will be understood and then it will be revealed how sensitive a sector the domestic and national industry is, from Turkeys foreign policy to its economic development and its army being strong and equipped with the requirements of the modern age. In this respect, the active role of the defense industry will be discussed in the paper and the results that emerged during critical periods in the historical adventure of the Turks and the Republic of Turkey will be explained. Based on the example of FNSS FNSS Defense Systems Inc., a national land defense systems company, it will be emphasized how this was successful in a short time and how it produced many benefits for the countrys economy, military, and weapons technology. This study, the critical roles played by the defense industry for the country will be determined by following a method from general to specific, from past to present, and from a foreign policy to the national economy within the country. After these determinations, it will be shared how important the defense industry is for an independent, strong economic activity in foreign policy, and for the strong existence of our state and nation.
