Özet:

This study presents a bibliometric analysis of international research articles on Turkish Music. It was conducted to understand the contribution of Turkish Music to international academic studies. Thus, it aims to contribute to researchers who want to conduct international studies. It also covers another aim to increase the quantity and quality of Turkish Music studies. The study was conducted on 117 articles published in journals included in the Web of Science WOS database and containing the concept of Turkish Music in their titles. The obtained data was analysed using the R program. Information was presented under the headings of keywords chosen by the authors, keywords chosen by the journal editors, journals where studies in the field were published, most frequently used resources, international collaborations, and the popularity of the field based on conceptual keywords. As a result of the study, it was observed that while the concepts of makam, modernization, rhythm-usûl were frequently included in the studies, the concepts of Turkish Music culture, Turkish Religious Music and pitch system evolved into a niche dimension. It can also be concluded that postgraduate theses and encyclopaedias contain contributions that shape the field in terms of the number of citations and quotes made. The data obtained as a result of the study includes detailed information about the subject, source and international journals for researchers in the field of Turkish Music.
