Özet:

Hearing (semā‘) and whirling dance (ṣūfī devrān) are individual or collective rites performed by sects that adopt the vowel (cahrī) dhikr method. People who opposed hearing (semā) and whirling dance (ṣūfī devrān) claimed that hearing (semā‘) and whirling dance (ṣūfī Devrān) takeover were not permissible and that they were a type of entertainment performed by polytheists and people of desire. Even for this reason, there were conflicts between the normative scholars and the ṣūfīs, and beyond the ongoing scientific discussions between the apparent scholars and the ṣūfīs. The enemies of the order, who took their share from the views of the apparent scholars of the past, carried out acts that amounted to actual intervention, and attacked the dervish lodges and zawiya. In the face of this situation, ṣūfī authors wrote works and treatises defending ṣūfī issues in different periods. One of them is the works and treatises which are the defense of hearing (semā ‘) and whirling dance (ṣūfī devran). Muhterem b. Mahmud et-Tokādī is one of the authors who wrote the defender of whirling dance (ṣūfī devran). We could not pinpoint the period he lived in. Muhterem b. Mahmud et-Tokādī defended the transferee against his opponents and gave answers to the opponents of the whirling dance (ṣūfī devran) in his treatise. In this article, we will try to introduce Muhterem b. Mahmud et-Tokādī’s ar-Risāla fī Ibāḥati'd-Devrāni's- Ṣufiyye, in which Mahmud et-Tokādī responded to the objections of those who did not accept the transfer, and to convey his views on the hearing (semā) and whirling dance (ṣūfī devrān).
