Özet:

After the resistance of Dukak, the first known member of the dynasty, against the Oguz Yabgus, the first movement in the Seljuk family, whose dream of establishing a state was formed, started with the migration of his son Selçuk to Djand. The political activities of these two names, who were the first members of the family, directly determined the future of the state. However, due to the inconsistencies between the sources written at different times to illuminate their political activities, different rumours were put forward about them and created a confusion of information. Some historians took advantage of this gap and tried to convey the origin of the Seljuk family with exaggerated and ambiguous expressions. The first issue that draws our attention in this regard is the ambiguous statements about the origin of the family narrated by Oguznāmeh based works. The narrations of the Oguznāmeh based works are very valuable for our understanding of the activities of the Seljuk family. However, when we compare the Oguznāmeh based works among themselves and with other medieval sources, we see that there are serious inconsistencies in the narrations. Therefore, it is essential to examine the narratives put forward by the works written under the name of Oguznāmeh for the Seljuk family by comparing them with other medieval sources. In this way, it will be better understood for what purposes the rumours put forward for the Seljuk family were put forward. In this study, it will be tried to explain for what purpose the Oguznāmeh variant works, which provide information about the origin of the Seljuk family, convey the information they narrate.
