Özet:

TThe riba-bearing goods have been one of the discussed matters in classical fiqh literature. This intricate subject has been addressed by the Hanafi school, which propounds three distinct definitions of riba, namely as excess, a contractual entity, and an exchange action. Notably, the emphasis on excess within these definitions has garnered prominence in scholarly discourse. According to Hanafis, riba-bearing goods are those whose quantification is determined by measurement and weight, while other goods exempt from riba considerations. The pivotal rationale for employing these two units of measurement is rooted in the Hanafi conviction that standardization of goods is contingent solely upon these two units of measurement. In the exchange of riba-bearing goods within their own categories, the Hanafi stance advocates the absence of excess and predetermined terms. The purpose of this study is to delve into the Hanafi schools perspectives on riba-bearing goods, examining the issue within the framework of fundamental principles of fiqh. To achieve this, I have undertaken a detailed exploration of the concepts of goods and riba, considering relevant Quranic verses and hadiths crucial for understanding the subject. What sets my study apart is the comprehensive consideration of Hanafi viewpoints on riba-bearing goods, grounded in both rational aklî and scriptural naklî evidence.
