Özet:

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the goals of success in sports and motivation of athletes trained in athletics and judo. In the study, the Motivation in Sports Scale and the Aim of Success in Sports Scale were used as data collection tools. According to the results of the research, it was determined that there was a significant difference in favor of athletics athletes in terms of the sub-dimensions of motivation scale, integrated regulation, introspective regulation and intrinsic motivation in favor of non-national athletes in terms of the sub-dimensions of identified regulation, external regulation, integrated regulation, introspective regulation and intrinsic motivation, and in favor of national athletes in the scores obtained from the sub-dimensions of Goal of Success in Sports Scale, mastery and ego. In the study, it was also determined that there were significant relationships between the sub-dimensions of the Motivation in Sports Scale and the sub-dimensions of the Goal of Success in Sports Scale. It was revealed that the mastery sub-dimension of the achievement goal scale in sports showed moderate positive correlations with various motivational arrangements. In particular, it has been observed that athletes with a high sense of mastery-oriented goal are strong in terms of self-identity and commitment to sports pursuits. These findings suggest that the identification of the goal of success with personal identity establishes a positive relationship between the ego and the identified regulation. In addition, the positive relationship between external regulation and ego calls into question the sustainability of motivation based on extrinsic factors. The low level of negative relationship between the sub-dimension of demotivation and ego indicates that there is a lack of motivation in cases where the goal of success is low.
