Özet:

The presence of the father is an important element that affects the development of a woman throughout her life. The absence of a father, whether physical or emotional, causes a much deeper and more layered image of that figure to be established in the persons consciousness in order to compensate for this deficiency. For this reason, the issue of the absence of the father emerges in an interesting way, especially in terms of how women artists approach the father figure in their works. In this context, two works by autobiographical artists Tracey Emin and Jannane Al-Ani, who focus on their own fathers, were examined. As a result of this examination, it was seen that the absence of the father figure could be artistically expressed and the father could be recreated through images.
