Özet:

This work examines the Gretchentragedy in Turkish literature using Sabahattin Alis work The Demon in Us tr. İçimizdeki Şeytan. Johann Wolfgang von Goethes Faust, the first part of the tragedy, serves as the basis for this. To date, no similar approaches have been undertaken in this spectrum, as there is no Faust in Turkish literature. Therefore, this article presents an example and will try to show how Sabahattin Ali acquired and transformed the material of Faust. The focus is on the Gretchen tragedy and the two protagonists Ömer and Macide from the novel The Demon in Us. With the help of Genettes transtextuality theory, an attempt is made to show how Ali took the Faust material and adapted it in his work. This is attempted with the hypertextuality theory. Passages are excerpted from the novel and examined whether Ali used the same material or was inspired by Goethes Faust and modified the material.

Bu çalışma, Sabahattin Alinin İçimizdeki Şeytan adlı eserinden hareketle Türk edebiyatında Gretchentragedyasını incelemektedir. Johann Wolfgang von Goethenin Faustu bunun temelini oluşturuyor.
