Özet:

Cosmogony is the name of mythological system that includes explanations about the creation of the earth in particular and the cosmos in general. Within this system, the relationship between the creator and the created has always been questioned. In the aforementioned questioning, it is useful to state that two known elements are subjected to some analogies. Among the relevant analogies, it is possible to witness that some animals are included. For instance, in the cosmogonic concept in Turkish mythology, it should be noted that the concepts of God and Person Human point to a plain in this direction. Because in the Turkish cosmogony, the two known concepts are depicted by analogy with the goose. In this description, it should be emphasized that one of the important indicators of the cultural roots of the Turkish is constituted. As a matter of fact, from the perspective of the Turkish mythological system, it is a known fact that each element in cosmogonic narratives directly affects the value judgments and social perceptions in Turks. As an animal attributed sacredness by the Turks, the goose is one of the sources of Turkish cosmogony. In some examples of Turkish creation narratives, the goose is attributed certain extraordinary characteristics. In relations to the mentioned ground, in this research, the sacredness of the goose in the Turkish cosmogonic envisioning will be discussed in the light of the available data, as it is a bird species closely recognised in Turkish cultural ecology. Therefore, as a belief factor, the importance phenomenon, which is almost contemporaneous with Turkish culture according to the information that brings news from the mythological period, will be tried to be revealed based on the creation stories in this direction.
