Özet:

Establishing a relationship between faith and knowledge in the contemporary period seems to have become almost an ordinary situation in many works of theology. Considering that many researchers act in good faith while doing this, it can be said that they aim to pave the way for a positive dialectic in any way between the two concepts. In this way, a straight path from knowledge to faith and from faith to knowledge is designed. In this way, faith, which is based on knowledge and thought, has become stronger by assuming the form of verifiable belief, and it is considered to have a rational and cognitive basis by moving beyond being a mere heart and emotional act. However, while explaining the principles of faith based on this relationship, it is a problem to support it with the scientific and philosophical knowledge that has progressed up to that day in order to strengthen the discourse. As a matter of fact, we see the most typical example of this in the detailed explanations about the definition of faith. Sunnit Mutakallims generally defined faith as an affirmation. The problem is that over time, reason has been mixed with the heart in theology, and the approval of another discipline, the logic, has been mixed with the approval in theology. The theological affirmation is not inherently compatible with each other, except in its nominal aspect, with the philosophical / logical affirmation.
