Özet:

Risk management is a proactive management process that ensures that disasters become manageable by taking necessary precautions before they occur. In this context, the main subject of the study is the relationship between the risk class and development levels of countries. In the study, using the OECDs Human Development Index and Inform Risk Index, data from 173 countries were taken and analyzed in the SPSS 22.0 package program. The results of the research showed that there is a difference between the development levels of the countries according to their risk status and the risk class affects the development level of the countries. It has been determined that countries differ according to their development in terms of the danger and exposure risk they face, natural hazard risks, human hazard risks, risks of displaced people, risks related to health conditions and inequality risks. It has been determined that the development levels of the countries differ according to the risk classes. It has been concluded that the level of development of the countries has an effect on the risk classes they are in.
