Özet:

Abstract Objective: This study aims to contribute to the growing literature by examining the integration of Syrians in Altindağ and to provide an understandinginterpretation based on a different scale regarding the factors shaping the integration experiences of immigrants in Türkiye. Method: To address the research question and objectives, the study employed a qualitative research design using in-depth interviews as the primary data collection method. Secondary data sources included literature review findings and statistics shared by the Directorate General of Migration Management. Findings: The literature on immigrant integration emphasizes the complex and multifaceted nature of the integration process. While social integration theories provide a framework for understanding how refugees can be included in their new societies, case studies offer diverse perspectives on the specific challenges and opportunities refugees face in different contexts. Both structural and social barriers to integration are significant and require comprehensive policies and interventions to address. The findings of this study reveal various obstacles that Syrians face in the social integration process in Türkiye and how these obstacles shape Syrians efforts to be included in society. Originality: This study, which focuses on the integration of Syrians and immigrants that has become one of the important agenda items in Türkiye since 2011, hopes to both contribute to the literature and provide a window for decision-makers and policymakers.
