Özet:

This research investigates the relationship between union satisfaction and job satisfaction among public healthcare workers, focusing on differences based on employee status officer vs. worker. It also examines the impact of union satisfaction on job satisfaction and the role of demographic factors. In this study conducted with 224 participants at a university hospital, the data collected from face-to-face surveys were analysed using SPSS and AMOS software. Structural Equation Modelling SEM, Pearson Correlation, Simple Linear Regression, and MANOVA were applied, with ANOVA and Tukey HSD Post Hoc tests used to explain significant results. Union satisfaction was measured using Fiorito et al.s 1988 scale, and job satisfaction was measured using Brayfield and Rothes 1951 scale. Findings indicate that the relationship between union satisfaction and job satisfaction shows borderline acceptable fit in SEM analysis. Union satisfaction has a positive but low impact on job satisfaction, with demographic variables such as gender and status playing a significant role. Workers report higher levels of union satisfaction compared to officers, and men have higher job satisfaction than women. Union membership duration and income level significantly influence union satisfaction. The study emphasizes highlights that improving job satisfaction is closely related to union satisfaction, suggesting unions adapt their policies considering status and demographic differences.
