Özet:

This study aims to evaluate views of Ikhwân es-Safâ on the human nature and the soul-body relationship in a critical way. The views of Ikhwân es-Safâ on the subject are discussed in the context of the following questions and are subjected to a critical evaluation. What is human? What are the basic components that make up the human being? What is the source of the body and the soul? When, how and why they come together? What kind of relationship and interaction does exist between them? Is it possible to talk about a harmony or incompatibility between them? Is the soul subject to the body or is the body subject to the soul? Or sometimes the soul is subject to the body, and sometimes the body is subject to the soul? Is it possible to say one is superior to the other? What changes happens in the state of the soul and the body upon the death? Can the soul survive on its own without the body? In this study, the Arabic copies and Turkish translations of the Ikhwân es-Safâ Treatises will be taken as a basis, and related sources will also be used.
