Özet:

The Ottoman Empire was defeated in the First World War, which took place between 1914 and 1918. According to the seventh article of the Armistice of Mudros signed on October 30, 1918; The Allies will have the right to occupy any strategic point whenever there is a threat to their security. Relying on this article of the treaty, the British considered occupying Samsun and its surroundings, like many other parts of Anatolia. The British begin to land soldiers in Samsun, and there are Greeks among the soldiers they send out. The aim of the British is to create a basis for the seventh article of the Armistice of Mudros by causing turmoil to the Greeks in the region. At various times, the British first sent two hundred soldiers, then a thousand-strong army unit, to Samsun. After these landings, they sent about a hundred British soldiers to the same place, together with their war equipment and mounts. He says that the British have deployed troops to Samsun, that they are preparing for an invasion, and that the occupations will spread to the inner regions of Anatolia. He states that he ordered a counter-attack with weapons to stop the British troops on the shore. The British and Sultan Vahdettin, who panicked at Mustafa Kemal Pashas order and arrangement to respond to the British soldier with weapons, wanted Mustafa Kemal Pasha to return to Istanbul. When Mustafa Kemal Pasha did not comply with the call to return, he was dismissed from military service. In this study, the British occupation of Samsun and the dismissal of Mustafa Kemal Pasha, who opposed the occupation, will be examined by using archive documents.
