Özet:

The aim of this study is to reveal spatial changes in aridity indices based on temperature and precipitation at annual or sub-annual time scales in Western Anatolia. Precipitation and temperature data recorded over the period from 1966 to 2018 at 36 meteorological stations operated by the State Meteorological Service of Turkey in Western Anatolia were used. De Martonne monthly, seasonal and annual, Pinna Combinative, Lang and Emberger Indices were calculated. Spatial variations of the indices were produced using IDW Inverse Distance Weighted method. In annual scale, spatial patterns of long-term from 1966 to 2018 averages of the indices revealed that southern coastal, southwestern and northeastern parts are the most humid parts of the study area. The analysis in seasonal and monthly scale were done using De Martonne index. The most humid parts are southwest in winter, southwest and northeast in spring, northeast in summer, and north and northeast in autumn. Spatial pattern in monthly scale varies among months. Climate types of the stations were determined in seasonal and monthly scales.
