Özet:

Defeated against the Red Army, the pro-tsarist White Army soldiers, aristocrats, and the civilian population were forced to leave Russia as of 1919. One of their first and noteworthy stop was Istanbul. The White Russians, who mostly used Istanbul as a transit city, had a great impact on the social and economic life of the occupied city since their arrival. Although the majority of White Russians left Istanbul and Turkey in the following years, there were also those who preferred to stay and became a citizen. The increasing number of recently written texts about the White Russians in Turkey is about their effects on the social and economic life in Istanbul, their relations with the government through citizenship, and their departure from the country. However, until now, there has been no literature revealing the relations of the White Russians with the diplomatic and economic missions of the Soviets in Turkey. In this study, the economic relations of the White Russians with the Soviet trade institutions in Turkey, their rivalry against them, and the conflicts they caused within the Soviet institutions will be examined.
