Özet:

Dede Korkut is one of the most powerful representatives of the traditional cultural heritage of the Turkish world. Dede Korkut has accumulated hundreds of years of Turkish culture. He is a cult figure with his appearances in myths and functions as an essential element in folk narratives and beliefs. In addition to these oral sources narrated among the people, there is information about Dede Korkut in written records. In this respect, Dede Korkut can be considered as a real character of history. The appearance of Dede Korkut, accepted as the common cultural heritage of the Turkish cultural geography, and his portrayal in myth and his historical reality are intertwined and actually identified with each other. Dede Korkut, the cult figure of myth and the real historical figure, continues to be transmitted in cultural memory as a cultural heritage, transcending contexts. In this respect, there is a tradition that has been shaped in the history of Turkish culture from the past to the present, with a special focus on Dede Korkut. The Dede Korkut tradition has recently been protected by international conventions and declared as the common heritage of humanity, especially thanks to the data flow accelerated by the electronic cultural environment. Based on this reality, the study focuses on the Dede Korkut heritage, which expresses a cultural accumulation shaped on the basis of Dede Korkut, and reveals how the formation process of this heritage in Turkish cultural memory was realized. The article examines the influence of society, culture, and folklore on the transfer of Dede Korkut heritage from generation to generation, the preservation of its vitality in Turkish cultural memory, and the establishment of a cultural connection between the past and the present through this heritage, as well as the social, cultural, and folkloric foundations of this heritage. A theoretical analysis of how the Dede Korkut heritage is transmitted from the past to the present is conducted within the framework of the inter-contextuality approach. In this study, which is a case study, a text-centered approach was followed in accordance with the qualitative research method. Based on the literature review, written and electronic contents about Dede Korkut, which were selected by the random sampling method, were evaluated from a holistic perspective. At the end of all these evaluations, it was concluded that the Dede Korkut heritage interacts in harmony with social, cultural, and folkloric foundations and continues its vitality in areas where it can reach inter-contextuality.
