Özet:

For the recognition of contemporary Russian prose, deeply rooted in Russian classical literature, Lyudmila Ulitskaya is a significant figure whose works are often examined within the framework of womens literature globally and in Turkey; Ulitskayas literary contributions are richly diverse. Her living experiences across different periods of Russian history seem to have broadened her prose regarding her themes, motifs, characters, and narrative techniques. The Big Green Tent Зелёный шатер, dedicated to Soviet dissidents by the author, stands out as one of her principal works, offering insight into her creative genius. The Big Green Tent, which intertwines historical realities of the Soviet era with fictional elements and recurring themes such as love, marriage, migration, imprisonment, and exile, places the motif of death at the forefront. This article analyses The Big Green Tent through a motif analysis of the theme of death, focusing on technical and thematic dimensions alike.
