Özet:

The Philosophy of Knowledge, which defines the tradition of thought that rejected medieval philosophy and academic thought, is autonomous in the sense that it is the product of pure reason. Since reason served faith and philosophy served theology in medieval philosophy, the philosophers around Descartes laid the foundations of the seventeenth-century philosophical tradition that eliminated the influence of theology. In this context, the representatives of this philosophical approach developed a human-centred worldview and a worldview based on the subject rather than the God-centred worldview that preceded them. In the Philosophy of Knowledge, the subject is the focal point in the human perspective. Descartes is considered the founder of modern philosophy. Modern philosophy began to be formed in the 17th century with the ideas of the Renaissance and was completely identified with the French Rene Descartes and the English Francis Bacon. The pioneer of the Enlightenment Philosophy has an important position as it is the dominant understanding of Western civilisation. In order to understand why modern philosophy is so important, it is necessary to understand the first representatives of this new philosophy. The Purpose of Descartes Philosophy and The Powers of Acquiring Knowledge in Using the Method, which constitute the backbone of the study, are analysed in the light of various paradigms by content analysis and by referring to domestic and foreign sources. The main purpose of this article is to explain Descartes understanding of the philosophy of knowledge, which determines the source of knowledge with reason and answers all questions with reason.
