Özet:

Ethnography museums are an important type of museum that emerged as the protector and sustainer of social memory. It is also possible to describe these museums as places of memory that try to systematically collect and display all material and spiritual cultural values of a nation in one place. Ethnography museums also play an important role as organizations that enable the visitor to establish a link between the past and the future and aim to preserve national consciousness. In this sense, ethnography museums also aim to exhibit both the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the public, taking into account the work-visitor relationship. Thus, visitors to the museum can obtain important clues about the handicrafts, lifestyle, clothing culture, weddings, oral tradition, food culture and many other values of the local people with the help of the ethnographic and folkloric materials exhibited in the museum. Therefore, by establishing a link between the past and the present, he can understand the cultural continuity in the best way in these museums. In this study, our aim is to focus on how Kemaliye, which is a rich place with its historical texture, structures, handicrafts, tangible and intangible cultural heritage, exhibits these elements in an ethnography museum and reflects them to the visitor. In addition, it is aimed to evaluate the important mission of these museums through the Kemaliye Ethnography Museum by expressing that ethnography museums are important organizations that exhibit the material and spiritual values of the public in a space. In addition, although it is a small settlement area, the relationship of the settlement area with the museum will be discussed by mentioning the effects and contributions of the existence of an ethnography museum in Kemaliye on the city.
